You can create a private folder that requires login such as:
http://www.yourdomain.com/secure/
that pops up a login prompt on the browser when someone
requests a page in that folder such as
http://www.yourdomain.com/secure/secret.htmsecret.htm
First use the User Manager to create one user accounts
that you want to log into the folder. Simple names such as
john or jane are not the best because this system is
shared by multiple organizations - there might be more
than one john on our server. Make something unique to
unique to
your organization such as IBMdownloads.
Use FTP, FrontPage or the File Manager (from the control panel
main menu) to create the secure folder and put files in it such as
secret.htm
The navigate to the Domains | List WebSites, choose your
web site. Click Private Folders, click Add Folder. Click
Browse
and navigate by clicking Browse folder to go down, and Up One Level
and
then click Select Folder to select the folder to be made private.
Fill in the name of the user account and its password, that you
made previously.
Click the Add Private Folder button. Fill in the alias for the
folder,
or just give it the same name as the physical folder, such as
'secure'.
With
the web browser, navigate to the new folder such as
http://www.yourdomain.com/secure/secret.htm
You should be prompted to login. Enter one of the account names
and passwords (or try your administrative) account and you should
be able to access the content.
To
change the private folder in future, return Domains | List WebSites,
select your web site, click Private Folders. You can edit or delete
the folder.

Set anonymous access to No, possibly turn off write permission
and turn on directory browsing. Save.
From the control panel main menu, select ACL Manager, ACL
Permissions
browse to the new 'secure' folder. You can determine which
users
are allowed to read and execute (or even write) the files in the
secure
folder.
With
the web browser, navigate to the new folder such as
http://www.yourdomain.com/secure/secret.htm
You should be prompted to login. Enter one of the account names
and passwords (or try your administrative) account and you should
be able to access the content.
